By Kylee Niederhauser

If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing long weekend getaway, Scottsdale, Arizona should definitely be at the top of your list! Known for its beautiful desert landscapes, luxury resorts, and vibrant arts scene, Scottsdale has something for everyone. And what better way to experience this vibrant city than by staying at Saguaro, a four-bedroom home with a private pool, putting green, and even a playground for the kids!

Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

After checking in to Saguaro, take some time to unwind and settle in. Guests can take their pick of four spacious bedrooms, including the primary suite with an en-suite bathroom and sliding doors overlooking the back yard and pool. If you’re feeling active, challenge your family and friends to a competition on the putting green, or let the kids get their wiggles out on the playground.

Keep dinner plans simple after your long travel day – The Sicilian Butcher is one of our favorite spots and is less than 10 minutes from Saguaro!

Day 2: Hiking and Outdoor Fun

Start the day off with a scenic hike in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, a stunning desert landscape with over 225 miles of trails. With options for all skill levels, you can choose a trail that suits your group’s abilities and interests.

After a morning of hiking, return to Saguaro for an afternoon of fun in the sun. Lounge by the private pool, sip on cocktails at the outdoor bar, and catch your favorite sports game on the outdoor TV. Then fire up the BBQ on the back patio and cook up some delicious food for dinner.

Day 3: Arts and Culture

Explore Scottsdale’s vibrant arts and culture scene by visiting the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art or the Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. The former showcases contemporary art from around the world, while the latter offers exhibits on the history and culture of the American West. Families with younger children may opt for a visit to the OdySea Aquarium instead!

In the evening, head to Old Town and try one of the local craft breweries, such as Goldwater Brewing Co. or Four Peaks Brewing Company. You can also check out our Scottsdale Dining Guide for more options!

Day 4: Adventure Day

For the final day of your long weekend in Scottsdale, get your adrenaline pumping with an outdoor adventure. Rent ATVs and explore the Sonoran Desert, or take a hot air balloon ride to see the breathtaking views of the city from above.

If you’re looking for something more low-key, take a leisurely bike ride along the canal or head to Top Golf for food and fun.

With its stunning desert landscapes, luxury resorts, and vibrant arts scene, Scottsdale, Arizona is the perfect destination for a long weekend getaway. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or outdoor fun, Scottsdale has something for everyone. And staying at Saguaro will make your stay even more enjoyable!
