Q: “Will we want to have the pool heated? Do you charge a fee? What about using the hot tub?”
A: Depends on the time of year! During the warmer months of the year (May-September), the pool will be heated naturally by the sun to anywhere between 85-95 degrees (depending on the weather and depth of the pool). In the cooler months of the year, pool temperatures will naturally range in temperature from the mid 60s to the mid 70s, so colder than most people would prefer.
We do charge a daily use fee for heating the pool, which varies by property depending on size and the type of fuel that the heater uses at that particular property. We only look to cover energy expenses with our pool heating fees, not make a profit, so that our guests can take advantage of the amenity at a reasonable cost. Spa/hot tub heating is complimentary.
Q: “We’ll be celebrating my best friend’s birthday while we’re in town. Can you recommend a place to get a cake or cupcakes?”
A: Tiffany’s Sweet Spot! We’ve yet to sample a flavor we didn’t like. They also have a great gluten-free option!
Q: “Do any of your properties have golf privileges?”
Q: “Can you recommend a hiking trail close to the house?”
A: There are SO many to choose from! The most convenient options for our properties in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood start at the top of the cove – Bear Creek, Boo Hof and Cove to Lake Cahuilla.
Q: “Can we get an early check in/late check out?”
When possible, yes. Our general rule is that if we have a same day turnover (a guest leaving in the morning and another arriving in the afternoon) then we cannot alter our check in or check out times. This is to ensure that our turnover team has ample time for cleaning, laundering, restocking and inspection. If we have a natural gap between bookings then we can usually accommodate an early check in or late check out, depending on our turnover team’s schedule. All early check in/late check out requests must be received and agreed upon at least 24 hours in advance and are not guaranteed.
Q: “We want to be pampered. Can you recommend a day spa?”
Q: “What are some of your favorite restaurants?”
Q: “How hot does it *really* get in the summer? Any tips to beat the heat?”
A: In the summer months, expect temperatures to be over 100 degrees F. It is not uncommon for temperatures to be in the 110-115 degree range, with a couple of extreme heat days (120 degrees).
- It is extremely important to stay well hydrated (we love LiquidIV!)
- Use a window shade in your car, if you have one. Park in the shade (or garage) whenever possible, and let the car’s air conditioner run for a few minutes before getting children into the car.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing and don’t forget your sunscreen!
- If you choose to hike or do other outdoor activities, stick to the very early morning hours and, again, HYDRATE!
