Simple and serene with a desert-bohemian flare, we love the casual vibe of this kids bedroom at Saguaro in Scottsdale, Arizona. The two “headboards” are actually rattan room dividers which we anchored to the wall. I spotted these at an overstock store (Treasure Hunt in Indio, which has since gone out of business.. RIP) and actually changed my entire room design to make them the focal point. We paired the dividers with our favorite platform beds and memory foam mattresses.

The artwork was purchased from a small print shop via Society 6, and sets the color story for the room. We love the moody, turquoise-blue cabinet between the two beds, which holds games plus a small lamp, kids books, a white noise machine and a charging port.

The national parks tapestry is an interesting addition to an otherwise blank wall, and the closet is equipped with hangers and luggage stands. Even though this room was designed with our younger guests in mind, we wanted it to be mature enough for an adult to sleep here without it feeling like they drew the short straw of staying in the “kids room”.

This 3×5 rug fits nicely between the two beds and adds a small pop of color, as does the large sansevieria plant in the corner. Some of the smaller details, like this dreamcatcher, were purchased at a local vintage market.
