If you are visiting the Coachella Valley in October you can expect lows in the mid-60s and highs in the 80s. You can still expect some beautiful Autumn sunshine and very little chance of rain during this time of year. October is the perfect time to visit the Coachella Valley for some Halloween family fun!

All Color Growers Pumpkin Patch
It’s that time of year again! The Pumpkin Patch at All Color Growers is back October 21 – 30, 2022. Visit the pumpkin patch and amazing food trucks and local vendors weekdays from 5-8 pm and weekends from 12-8 pm.

Featuring pick your own pumpkin, kiddie barrel ride, food vendors, craft vendors, flower fields, and a beer garden. Also enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, and an exotic animal booth that is open on weekends from 12-6 pm.
There is a $5 admission fee per person, but kids under 3 get in free. The parking is free and there is so much family fun to be had at the All Color Growers Pumpkin Patch this year!

Howl-O-Ween at The Living Desert
Are you ready for a howling good time with your family? Then head to The Living Desert for their annual Howl-O-Ween event Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th from 9 am to 3 pm.
At this fun and spooky event all visitors to The Living Desert are invited to dress up in their favorite costume to enjoy this amazing family fun adventure. The place comes to life with trick-or-treat stations throughout the zoo, make sure to bring your own trick-or-treat bag. Kids will also love collecting the animal cards along the trick-or treat trail.
You can also check out creepy, crawly, and cool things at the Keeper Connections Wildlife Wonders Amphitheater, 10:00am and 1:30pm both days. Or experience some live magic with our visiting comedy magician Village WaTuTu, 10:30am – 3:30pm both days.

Stop by the food trucks when you get hungry for some delicious ghoulish treats. Keep in mind that at this family event both kids and adults are encouraged to dress up, but there are a few rules. The Living desert does not allow full face masks for adults, weapons, obscenity, or anything that could cause disturbance to either patrons or animals.
The event is free for members of The Living Desert and so is parking, if you aren’t a member you can purchase tickets before your visit here. Tickets are $29.95 for adults, and $19.95 for kids ages 3 to 12 years old.

Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade
The 2022 Masquerade Parade – Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade will be held October 30 and will kick off around 12 pm. The 58th annual Golf Cart Parade will be held on the beautiful streets of El Paseo and will feature fun events for the whole family!
The theme of this year’s parade is Masquerade, and NFL legend Tom Flores will be the 2022 Golf Cart Parade Grand Marshal. This is one of the desert’s most fun and colorful events each year! Expect to see tons of brightly decorated carts, floats, and even marching bands in the Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade.
Although the parade starts at noon, you can come all day and enjoy this fun event. The Palm Desert Rotary will hold its popular annual Pancake Breakfast (yum) that starts at 8 a.m. on the corner of El Paseo and San Luis Rey. Other vendor booths open at 9 a.m., and be sure to leave time to peruse the classic car show at the event.
The kids will love the Kid’s Play Zone, there is also a designated section for Super Seniors, food and drink vendors, awards and trophy presentations, and so much more. The event is free, and free seating can be found at multiple locations along the parade route. VIP seats are $25 each and Senior Seating can be reserved in advance. Desert Mountain Bat Walk
This bat walk adventure, in La Quinta Cove, will take place on October 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The Superhero Bat Walk will help the whole family to explore the desert and learn about the super powers of bats!
Check the desert for all creatures large and small as a family, as you discover all of the magical desert creatures who call the Coachella Valley home. The bat walk begins at the Cove Oasis Trailhead.
You’ll want to bring a flashlight, a blacklight (if you have one) and water for this easy nighttime walk. This easy hike through desert wash, 300-foot elevation gain, 2-miles round trip. The best super hero bat costume gets a prize! How fun!
