Go Apple Picking
What fall trip would be complete without some apple picking? One of the top things to do in Oak Glen is to go apple picking in the fall. Visitors flock to this charming town as soon as apple picking season begins (September), and again at the end of the season to celebrate the apple butter festival.

There are several great “u pick” orchards to choose from in the area such as Los Rios Ranchos. At this 300-acre family-owned farm in the mountains, you’ll find 10,000 apple trees. Or head to Willowbrook Apple Farm where apple picking is free to the public as long as the apples last. Don’t worry, if they run out their fall festivals and country stores remain open, and they have wine-tasting and s’mores on select days.
